About OnlyCats

Rescue · Foster · Protect

OnlyCats Santa Maria exists to help cats who are stray, abandoned, surrendered, injured, overlooked, or living without reliable care. Our focus is local, practical, and direct: help the cat in front of us, support the person trying to do the right thing, and build better options for the next cat who needs help.

Why OnlyCats Is Needed

Santa Maria and the surrounding area have no shortage of people who care about cats, but local rescue space, foster homes, affordable veterinary care, transportation, and coordinated support are limited. Friendly cats are left outside. Kittens appear in yards and parking lots. Injured cats go untreated because no one knows where to turn. Families facing hardship may have nowhere safe to surrender a cat.

OnlyCats was created to help close those gaps.

What We Do

  • Evaluate reports involving stray, abandoned, injured, and community cats
  • Coordinate temporary foster placement when space is available
  • Help with food, carriers, supplies, transportation, and emergency needs
  • Connect cats with veterinary, rescue, adoption, or owner-search resources
  • Support community caregivers who are already feeding and watching over cats
  • Recruit fosters, volunteers, veterinary partners, donors, and local businesses
  • Share practical information that helps people make safer decisions for cats

Our Approach

Every cat and every situation is different. Not every outdoor cat is feral. Not every friendly cat has an owner. Not every family asking for help is careless. We believe in looking at the full situation, identifying what is urgent, and choosing the safest realistic next step.

We also believe rescue should feel human. People are more likely to ask for help early when they are treated with respect, given clear options, and not made to feel ashamed.

Local Work, Local Impact

OnlyCats primarily serves Santa Maria and nearby communities as resources allow. Every foster home, donated bag of food, shared post, ride to a veterinary appointment, and monthly contribution helps us respond to more cats locally.

Be Part of What Comes Next

OnlyCats is growing through community participation. You can help by fostering, volunteering, donating, sharing current needs, offering professional services, or introducing us to people and businesses that want to make a practical difference for cats.
